HPV

I decided to write an article on this virus that affects many many people in many different ways. Even though the HPV virus is very common, people are clueless about it as well as vaccines that claim they help. So I’ll begin with giving a rundown on the Human Papillomavirus and why you need to educate yourself on this important topic.

“HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection with over a hundred different strains that affects the skin(mucosal & cutaneous) and mucous membranes (vagina, mouth, anus).” HPV is a very particular virus. First of all, this papillomavirus only affects humans. Other species have their own forms of the papillomavirus which cannot be passed between different species. Each of the different strains of HPV have their own specific places they like to inhibit in the body. Ranging from the genital area to the mouth and even your hands and feet.

Even though there are no signs or symptoms, it is still possible to spread the virus through sexual contact. I say sexual contact because you don’t even have to have sex to get this virus. A lot of people seem to forget that oral sex and touching infected areas with your hands can easily spread bacteria,germs, and viruses. STDs such as Chlamydia, syphillis, herpes, gonorrhea, and HPV can all be transmitted through oral sex. Oral HPV silently inhibits the back of the mouth cavity and there has been a rise in throat cancers linked to the HPV virus. Specifically Oropharyngeal cancer which occurs in the back of the mouth, towards the throat. In some cases the virus can lead to cervical cancer. In other cases, the virus leads to warts. Even if the virus is contracted through oral sex it can spread to the genital region.

HPV is referred often as being spread through direct skin to skin contact. What does this exactly mean? It means that if you have sex with someone infected with HPV, protected or unprotected you can contract or spread the virus. This is because the virus can be “living” on the outer genital skin area such as the labia or the scrotum and simply touching your infected SKIN to their SKIN and vice verse can result in spreading HPV.Additionally, if you give or receive oral sex from someone who is infected with HPV, it is possible to spread or develop HPV as well.

70% of sexually active people will get the HPV virus at some point in their life and 80% of women are affected by the age of 50. This virus can remain inactive for weeks, months, and years before it shows up on tests. I don’t say this to scare you. However, it is very important to inform you of these alarming facts.

Not to hate on the guys, but men are the main carriers of this virus and since there are no signs or symptoms, most men do not even know they have the virus. Also, there is no medical test available for men to even see if they have HPV. This is why it is so vital that women regularly go to the gynecologist for a routine pap smear. This is the only way to know whether or not you have the virus. If you do have HPV, you should know that HPV almost always clears up on it’s own without any vaccines. Our immune systems naturally fight off the infection within one to two years. However, it is rare yet possible for this virus to develop into cervical cancer and will require surgery if it reaches this point.

There is no cure for HPV and big shot Pharmaceutical Companies: Merck and GlaxoSmithKline “have both come to the rescue with their miracle vaccines”…….Or Not!

Gardasil is the vaccine from Merck that went onto the market in 2006. If you look at the stats of cervical cancer before the Gardasil vaccine, they show cervical cancer was decreasing. Still our government spends billions and billions of dollars to administer Gardasil to our young women and girls.

FACTS ABOUT MERK AND GARDASIL:

• Gardasil vaccine costs about $360.00 for the series of three shots. $120 for each…making it the most expensive vaccine to date.
• Merck began marketing the drug to public before the FDA even approved it. How? Merck cleverly did mass marketing through television, ads, internet etc. about HPV. Basically running a fear campaign so when they did release their vaccine…everyone would want it.
• If you already have the HPV virus, the Gardasil vaccine actually can make the existing symptoms of the virus much much worse!
  
• The vaccine is recommended for girls ages 9-25 (prime reproductive years for women) Merck targeted young women because they assume these girls are not already infected with the virus.
• After their vaccine was put on the market, Merck heavily lobbied state legislators to make their vaccine mandatory for women.
• Gardasil only protects a girl/women for 5-7 years!! Imagine a twelve year-old going to the doctor, receiving these shots and becoming sexually active around the common age of 17 or 18. All the while, thinking she’s not only safe from getting other forms of HPV but forever safe of contracting the virus at all!
• There are 32 unconfirmed deaths linked to Gardasil. Many of these cases are girls young as 9,10 and 11.
• Gardasil only protects against 4 strains of HPV. There are over a hundred different strains!
• Gardasil was put on the market (thanks to the FDA) WAY BEFORE safety testing was done. Their safety trials are actually ending now in Sept. 2009
  
• In the U.S , 41 states have agreed to fund or educate about Gardasil and HPV.
  
• Virginia has made it mandatory to vaccinate young girls with Gardasil

Women need to be very wise when dealing with the decision of getting vaccinated with Gardasil, or any vaccination for that matter. Open your eyes and realize that the people behind the giant pharmaceutical companies i.e Merck, GlaxoSmithKline, Pfizer etc. main concerns is $$$. Why do you think they push these vaccines on us without properly informing the public about all the risks and complications that go along with taking the vaccine?

Anyway, I agree with health care professionals stating that the best way to prevent cervical cancer is to get a pap smear annually. Like I said earlier, if you do have HPV…it is very likely that it will clear up on it’s own. Going to the doc regularly will ensure that virus is subsiding.

Blood pressure can change throughout the day. It rises when you are excited or nervous and falls when you are sleeping or at rest. However, for the most part, blood pressure stays pretty much the same during normal waking hours.

Normal blood pressure is stated as a systolic pressure of less than 120 m Hg and a diastolic pressure of less than 80 mm Hg (milligrams of mercury). Blood pressure that is defined as normal are considered the healthiest.

If you have a blood pressure reading of 140/90 or higher, you have high blood pressure. Having high blood pressure causes the heart to work harder and greatly increases your risk of developing kidney problems, and having a stroke. Blood pressures that are above normal i.e (systolic pressure of 120-139) point to signs of pre-hypertension and needs to be watched carefully.

According to the American heart Association, 1 in 3 American adults has high blood pressure and because high blood pressure has no symptoms about 1/3 of these people do not even know they have it. The likelihood of high blood pressure increases with age: for American women 70 and older its about 83% and American men of the same age its about 68%.

High blood pressure is just one of many risk factors for developing cardiovascular disease. If you are significantly overweight, smoke, poor diet, little to no exercise etc. you could be at risk for developing high blood pressure. Furthermore, some forms of heart disease can be hereditary. So, it is important to have your family living a lifestyle where you are incorporating low-sodium/ low-fat foods and fitness into your everyday life.

European research was published in the Journal of American Medical Association in which they conducted a 10 year study on adults ranging from the ages 70 years old to 90 years old. Adhering to the Mediterranean diet, lowered their risk of death by 23 percent. The study states that people on the Mediterranean diet had significant decreases in metabolic syndrome symptoms and improvements of good cholesterol.

The study also empathizes the importance of exercise. “Women who were ages 70 and older who had higher levels o f fitness scored much better on cognitive tests and showed less cognitive decline than women who had little to no exercise.”

In the Nurses Health Study consisting of women on a Mediterranean diet, had a 39 percent reduction in combined coronary heart disease and stroke compared to other women whose diet least resembled that of the Mediterranean diet.

A Mediterranean diet consists of whole grains, fish, vegetables, high monounsaturated fats found in avocados, olive oil, nuts, turkey, legumes and many others. This also includes low amounts of red meats, dairy products, and alcohol consumption. Generally, people following a Mediterranean diet drink one to two glasses of red wine a day. Another key component with following a Mediterranean diet is portion control. Remember to space your meals out and keep the portions small. Eating smaller, frequent meals allows you to feel “full” without consuming many calories and helps to prevent “overeating”.

Mediterranean Tuna Antipasto Salad:

• 2 cans of Chunk Light Tuna, drained & flaked
• 1 15 oz. can of Chick Peas or Black beans (drained & rinsed)
• 1/2 cup of lemon juice
• 4 tbsp. of extra-virgin olive oil
• 1 large red bell pepper, finely diced
• 1/2 cup of chopped parsley
• 1/2 cup of red onion, finely chopped
• 2 teaspoons of finely chopped rosemary
• 3 teaspoons of capers
• 8 cups of salad greens ( I love arugula)

Combine onion, parsley, pepper,capers, rosemary, 2 tbsp. of oil, 1/3 cup lemon juice, and tuna in a bowl to set aside. Combine the remaining oil, lemon juice and salad greens in a seperate large bowl. Toss the greens to ensure they are fully coated with the oil. Divide the greens onto 4 plates and top with the tuna salad.

THC-9 Cures and Heals

First and foremost, the US government has known since 1974, when they conducted their own studies, that Cannibinoids can cure cancers. They then proceeded to pressure universities and institutes to discontinue further studies and destroy data ranging from 1966 to about 1974. Even more so, proceeded with their “War on Drugs” campaigns and doling out severe penalties for marijuana (um-huh -”taxing” you). I look at some stats and you know what – how many people die each year of alcohol, prescription medications and tobacco products? How many from marijuana related, or even THC overdose? We need to re-visit our so-called “drug laws”, especially when the ABC Boyz (C-I-A) is probably the largest importer of drugs (right along with their weapons) Seriously folks, what does someone who smokes a little do? Probably goes home, eats and watches movies .

Research in the past decade or so has intensified into the human cannabinoid system, its functions and responsibilities. A lot of this research and the studies are suggesting that Our own cannabinoid systems are critical to Anti-Cancer, Anti-Aging, Anti-Inflammatory and Anti-Anxiety health benefits, even more so than our Immune System. For over 600 million years, every living organism with the exception of the Hydra, Mollusks and Insect classes has / have had a cannabinoid system, even humans. Only until recent studies have we started to truly understand the exact nature of our cannabinoid systems that, with a boost from pure cannabinoid extracts of marijuana plants, can give humans protection from many illnesses and diseases, as well as have preventative optimum health benefits . Yes, there have been for quite some time, synthetic versions such as Marinol, but these just do not exemplify the true curing and healing nature of real THC extract… as a supplement! Here are some facts about the Cannabinoid System and its Unique Functions:

Our bodies make endogenous (meaning “from within an organism” – natural) cannabinoids. One of the primary ones is called “Anandamide”, Sanskrit for “Blissful Amide”. Our bodies produce these, naturally, in response to a variety of conditions. Anandamides bind to vanilloid-Receptors to reduce pain (very well-known) and that adding THC-9 via pill or less preferably smoked, increases our anandamide production thus relieving pain (hence “medical” marijuana…right now). Taking aspirin actually prevents the breakdown of anandamides in our systems and “jumpstart” the natural production.

Cannabinoids have a very interesting way of protecting our cells and neurons from damage while eradicating bad ones, like Glieoma in brain tumors. ( I did not make that up!…all the time they were telling you it was bad for you “killing cells, ya know”)

Cannabinoids also boost our immune system into anti-inflammatory “mode” protecting you from auto-immune diseases and the free radicals your body creates – therefore receiving its anti-aging benefits, as inflammation is one of the 5 reasons that causes aging. Humans who intake THC-9 regularly, tend to look younger and live longer. Yup!

Cannabinoids can be used to treat and prevent certain cancers, such as Brain cancer (Glieoma), Skin cancer, Prostate cancer, Breast cancer, Lymphoma, Leukemia and Pheochromocytoma (cancer of adrenal glands). More and more studies are being done (quietly), which never really make headlines about treating additional cancers.

Cannabinoids not only help deal with cancers, but are also effective in treating, and possibly preventing, diseases like Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, Glaucoma and Osteoporosis. It has shown to be an effective natural based treatment for Multiple Sclerosis, Crohn’s / IBD, Arthritis, Liver disease, Seizures and even Bi-Polar Disorder! More important, it was in use for many of centuries before for some of these very same purposes, until it became “illegal to cure ourselves“.

The main receptors that THC – 9 (and other cannabinoids) influence are known as CB-1’s and CB-2’s, that are located in the more “evolved” higher part of the brain. Humans have naturally poor pathways to these CB-1’s and CB-2’s but by ingesting Cannabinoids can “tap” into these higher realms of thought versus people who do not. People with extremely small or no CB receptor activity, cannot adapt to change as well as humans with more developed pathways. Studies indicate humans function in a more homeostatic balance with additional cannabinoids than those people who don’t.

Babies / offsprings get a cannabinoids “boost” in the mother’s milk to activate their eating patterns and instincts. There’s another reason to breast your child instead of formula based (btw-they are junk) – babies need real mother’s milk for many other reasons and there are health benefits to the mother too.

It is becoming undeniable through the studies that are allowed to be done, the vast positive health benefits THC-9 and other cannibinoids can have on the human body…all this time it has been stigmatized and vilified (yet loved by others) and no other force has been so merciless as to attempt to eradicate marijuana than the government.  Who’s interests are they really protecting?

If a government TRULY cared about its citizens…Why is there poverty, disease, social classes?
